Access Points

Provide Fast, Reliable Connectivity

Cisco Aironet access points connect Wi-Fi devices to networks in a variety of wireless environments. Cisco Next-Generation Wireless solutions use 802.11n technology to deliver unprecedented reliability and up to nine times the throughput of 802.11a/b/g networks.

These access points support comprehensive connectivity for both indoor and outdoor environments, and are Wi-Fi certified for interoperability with a variety of client devices. Certain access points may be configured to support the OfficeExtend solution for secure mobile teleworking or Enterprise Wireless Mesh to extend connectivity for hard-to-wire environments.

More Security and Control

Lightweight access points operate with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers to address the security, deployment, management, and control issues facing large-scale enterprise WLANs. Standalone access points are ideal for simple overlay networks.

Improve Management of Next-Generation Wireless

Cisco Wireless Controllers (WLC) automate wireless configuration and management functions, giving network managers more visibility and control to cost-effectively manage and secure their wireless networks. As a component of the Cisco Unified Wireless Network, Wireless LAN controllers provides real-time communication between Cisco Aironet access points, the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS), and the Cisco Mobility Services Engine. They deliver centralized security policies, wireless intrusion prevention system (IPS) capabilities, award-winning RF management, and quality of service (QoS).

Outdoor Wireless

Stay Connected with Outdoor Wireless

Outdoor wireless networks enable real-time access to people, applications, and network resources. Whether you are a mobile worker e-mailing a customer from the airport, a student at a coffee shop downloading a homework assignment on your PDA, or a police officer viewing a video surveillance camera from a patrol car, mobility is transforming down time into productive time so you can stay connected, anytime, anywhere.

Outdoor wireless network solutions offer a wealth of new opportunities to keep people connected and create new service opportunities and applications that improve productivity and responsiveness.
